City. The trail construction involved three different contractors and three separate projects. The <br /> result was multiple subdivisions became linked within the City. By completing this project, the <br /> City has demonstrated the ability to complete trail construction projects. <br /> D. Community commitment to trail use - The City of Centerville has shown that it is <br /> committed to trail use by the heavy utilization of the City's existing trails. <br /> E. Impact on aajoin�ng landowners in the vicinity of the project - There would be little <br /> impact to adjoining landowners in the vicinity of this project. To the west of the project site is <br /> Centerville Lake. Ta the north of the project site is appro�mately 15 vacant acres of land owned , <br /> by St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. The Church has no immediate plans for development. To �, <br /> the east of the site is residential properties. These property owners have been at past Park and '� <br /> Recreation Committee meetings to voice their support for the further development of La.Motte ' <br /> Park. To the south of the site is vacant farmland that will be developed residentiatly within the <br /> ne� two years. <br /> F. Project readiness - This project would be ready to start if funding is secured. The City is <br /> already in possession of the affected property. The trail location was predetermined, prior to the <br /> City regrading the entire park. Pazk infrastnzcture was arranged to allow for future trail <br /> construction when funding was identified. The City would approve the trail specifications as <br /> designed by the City Engineer, solicit competitive bids and then award the contract to the lowest <br /> responsible bidder. <br /> G. Provides year round trail use - The trail would probably have the most usage in the spring , <br /> summer and fall months, but the trail would provide year around use. There is a hockey rink and I <br /> p�easure skating rink in LaMotte Park that are used heavily in the winter months. There also ' <br /> exists cross country ski trails in the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park that would be <br /> accessed in the winter months. <br />
