,_, � -�� CENTERVILLE ECONOiVIIC DEV�Lt�P1VI�iVT COVIlLIITTEE REGULAR MEE�'IN� MNUTES JANUARY 12 1999 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the �enterville Economic Developmen� Committee held their regular meeting on January 12, 1999. Chairperson Tim Rehbin� called the meeting to order at b:10 p.m. Present: Paul Montain, Mary Capra and Aime� Faarbrother. Brief appearances were made by Theresa Brenner, Jim 11�Iar�h and Wayne Leblanc. (*Note: meeting was held one sve�k earlier then scheduled due to Desi�n Team- Follow Up meeting immediateiy followingj. Annroval of December Minutes ��er clarification of the following concern, Tim R�hbine motione�i to appra��e the De�ember minutes. Paul Montain se�onded the motion. �Iary Capra abstained. Chairperson Rehbine questioned if the Streetscapes task group of the Design Team Follow- Up, was working on the downtown issues, as well as the streetscapes. After researching the task groups, these minutes clarify that there is one task group for streetscapes and one task group for downtoivn tasks. OLD BUSIN�SS '� Desi� Team - °Ideas in Action" A. Snowmobile Trail Update: It was confirmed by tiVayne LeBlanc that the Park and Trails Task Crroup of the Minnesota Design Team will be working on possible snowmobile trails in the City of Centerville. This task group has met once, and will be mesting again in �'ebruary. Feed back from the Februar� meetina will be brought to the Economic Development Committee at the next regular scheduled meeting. In addition, there was a discussion questioning weather the snowmobile trail that runs on 20th Avenue to l��ill Road was a marked trail, and if so, where snowmobiles go when the trail comes to an end on Mill Road. Aimee Fairbrcther stated that the Park and Trails Task Group may be able to answer those questions in their ne;�t meeting. Star Cit� Goals and Ob�ectives i At the Economic Development Committee's request, Theresa Brenner was asked if there was any new project associated with Star City participation for 1999. Theresa Brenner stated that there was nothing really new to work on, but that the committee should try to keep working off the goals with which the committee originally started. Paul Montain stated that in the next packet, it would be a good idea to include the original Star City aoals and objectives. A review of these goals/objectives will be added to the February 1999 agenda. Studebaker Fire Truck There was a short discussion in refer�nce to the Downtown Task Group memners that are interested in the Heritage Museum. The members, Hal Leibel, Cassie Biondolillo, and Kathy LaLonde will be asked with in the month, what their feelings are on the Studebaker and its place in the museum. _ �. = .. - . - - -- ��'- - T_� � �,.�_
