<br />CITY OF CENTERVlLLE <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 96-14 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING COST TO BE ASSESSED AND <br />ORDERING PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, costs have been estimated for the following improvement projects: a) <br />the extension of water main west on Main Street :from Peterson Trail to Mill Road to <br />Progress Road, north to Westview Street and west on Westview and b) street <br />improvement of Progress Road north of Main Street to a 9-ton road, and street <br />improvement ofWestview Street to a 9-ton road. The total estimated cost of the <br />Improvement Project known as Main Street I Progress Road I Elementary School <br />Watermain Extension is $414,676.26. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />CENTERVILLE, MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1. The portion of the cost of the projects to be paid by the city is hereby <br />declared to be $73,885 and the portion of the cost to be assessed against benefited <br />property owners is declared to be $405,402.13. <br /> <br />2. Assessments will be payable in equal annual installments extending over a <br />period of 10 years, the first of the installments to be payable on or before the first Monday <br />in January, 1997, and bear interest at the rate of9 percent per annum :from the date of the <br />adoption of the assessment resolution. <br /> <br />3. The city clerk, with the assistance of the city consulting engineer is directed <br />to forthwith calculate the proper amount to be specially assessed for the Improvement <br />Projects against every assessable lot, piece or parcel of land within the district affected, <br />without regard to cash valuation, as provided by law, the clerk must file a copy of the <br />proposed assessment in the city offices for public inspection. <br /> <br />4.
