North Metro Telecommunications Commission <br />Budget Line Item Supporting Information <br />Personnel <br />All salaries will remain at the 2010 level, except for 1 employee receiving a step <br />increase. The cost of living increase will be 0 %. <br />The part-time production assistant positions earn up to $425 per month (up to 42 <br />hours per month at $10 per hour) and are not eligible for health benefits or PERA. <br />Payroll taxes apply. There is no increase in the number of part-time hours budgeted <br />or the salary levels of part- timers for 2011. <br />Benefits <br />The employee benefits package will remain at the 2010 level. <br />The NMTC's contribution to PERA increased from 7.00% to 7.25% of employees <br />wages. - <br />Administrative Expenses <br />Administrative expenses remain at the 2010 level. There is not an expectation that <br />there will be a need for increased legal expenses in 2011. <br />Tuition and training expenses remain at the 2010 level. This level complies with the <br />revised employee handbook designating $500 per employee per year for training <br />purposes and to cover the expenses for IT staffs Microsoft certification classes. <br />Government/Legislative affairs money is to support efforts to protect local franchising <br />and community television funding. A bill for statewide franchising has been authored. <br />Production Expenses <br />Advertising /Marketing line item includes billboards, flyers, posters, cable spots, t- <br />shirts and other marketing incentives. <br />The annual volunteer award ceremony, video production supplies, intern stipends, <br />blank DVDs and videotape, production vehicle costs, and video equipment parts and <br />maintenance are included under production costs. <br />Total production expenses are unchanged from the 2010 budget. <br />Office Expenses <br />• Building maintenance includes the furnace /AC maintenance contract, lawn care, <br />snow removal, carpet and window cleaning, fire inspection, and probable <br />landscaping and building mechanical services. <br />• Building utilities include sewer, water, gas, and electric. <br />P. 3 <br />34 <br />
