Minutes <br />Sheriff Contract Group Meeting <br />December 18, 2008. <br />• Staffing Substation at Heritage Hall has improved image and presence in <br />east part of Contract Community area (WBT, GL) <br />• Crime levels in Arden Hills remained low (AH) <br />• Willingness to consider "Trail officer" for multi -family properties in Little <br />Canada provide opportunity to get a handle on activity at some of the <br />apartment complexes (LC) <br />• Mobile Home Park Crime Prevention Program good idea to handle <br />problem areas (LC). <br />• Excellent assistance by RCSD in dealing with administrative warrant on <br />Carla Lane (LC) <br />• RCSD support and partnerships with VHFD's CERT members training <br />appreciated (VH) <br />• Arson investigation at Community Park outstanding (VH) <br />Short noted that the ten performance concerns listed were specific to <br />individual communities, as follows: <br />• Look for opportunities for productivity and reduction of cost per unit <br />service (AH) <br />• Increased conflict between uses on roads — discuss what can be done <br />to increase safety (AH) <br />• Suggest "anticipatory planning" meeting regarding crime situations <br />(AH) <br />• More street patrol (VH) <br />High traffic concern areas need to be scheduled for regular placement <br />of speed board / traffic patrolling (VH) <br />• Winter No Parking enforcement could be more consistent (LC) <br />• Patrol Officers should stop in City Hall for staff familiarity (LC) <br />• Consolidated Dispatch — assert expectations and needs of the <br />Contract Communities (WBT) <br />• Work toward cooperation and service between patrol deputies and <br />Animal Control Officer (WBT) <br />• Member of VH Health & PSC requested but never received copies of <br />incident reports — customer service in this area needs improvement <br />(VH) <br />STRENGTHS: <br />Salter and Altendorfer very accessible, diligent and accountable (LC, <br />VVBT) <br />• Experienced and adequate staffing and equipment (AH) <br />• Entner & Nelson do an excellent job with traffic enforcement (LC, VH, <br />WBT) <br />• Eastham's enthusiasm and focus for crime prevention is a plus (LC, <br />WBT) <br />• Efforts at apartments appreciated (VH) <br />• Valento's efforts at manufactured home appreciated (VH) <br />
