Gem Lake City Council Meeting <br />Page 4 <br />Sign Ordinance #109: The Planning Commission looked over the ordinance <br />and with their approval forward it to the City Council. <br />There were questions from the public regarding the sign ordinance and were <br />answered by the City Council and Trevor Oliver, Lawyer for The City of Gem <br />Lake. All existing signs are grandfathered into the new ordinance. <br />Councilmember Artig-Swomley motioned to accept the document as approved by <br />the Planning Commission and from the Public Hearing that happened last month, <br />but to add an exemption for signs less than one square foot in size. This motion <br />was seconded by Councilmember Lindner, Sign Ordinance #109 was authorized <br />and passes. <br />Haven Culvert Project: Mayor Uzpen stated that a tree service has been hired <br />and work will be completed by the end of October, 2009. <br />Snow Plowing 2009-2010 Resolution #2009-15: Mayor Uzpen has received the <br />bids and T.A. Schifsky & Sons has been selected for the job. The bid is for <br />$169.00 an hour to plow. To put the salt/sand mixture is $36.00 a ton and to <br />spread it is $136.00 an hour. Upon motion by Councilmember Lindner and <br />seconded by Councilmember Artig-Swomley, Resolution #2009-15 passes. A. <br />voice vote was taken. Mayor Uzpen — yes, Councilmember Artig-Swomley — yes, <br />Councilmember Lindnerand — yes, and Councilmember Rasmussen — yes. Ayes <br />— 4, Nays 0. <br />Claims for October, 2009: The bills for October were discussed and authorized <br />to pay. Upon motion by Rassmussen and seconded by Artig-Swomley, the. <br />motion passes. Ayes — 4, Nays — 0. <br />Monthly Financial Reports: The City Council looked over the report and had <br />no questions. <br />South Road Owners Association of Gem Lake Resolution #2009-16: <br />Councilmember Rasmussen discussed changing the street name and address <br />numbers for the privately owned road, off of County Road E. The association has <br />okayed changing the name to Daniels Farm Road and sent the proposal to the <br />Planning Commission. The Planning Commission looked over the proposal and <br />the Planning Commission okayed the proposal and sent it forward to the City <br />Council. Upon motion by Councilmember Lindner and seconded by <br />Councilmember Artig-Swomley, Resolution #2009-16 has been authored and <br />passes.
