Gem Lake City Council Meeting <br />Page Three <br />concerned about being hit with another assessment down the road when the <br />other side of the road needs repairs, there might be a new City Council, and they <br />would be billed again. They were told that for this project they would not be <br />assessed again if their section of the road was not touched. There was a <br />discussion between the City Council and the businesses discussing the use of <br />the road with heavier trucks using that road. There needs to be an understanding <br />on what the road can and cannot do. Mayor Uzpen offered a plan of paying the <br />assessment in full up front or a five-year plan at two percent interest per year. <br />The City Council will vote on this decision at the December 15, 2009 City Council <br />meeting. <br />2010 Budget — Resolution 2009-18: Jessie Hart, from White Bear Township, <br />presented the Cities' 2010 budget. Jessie discussed the costs and revenues of <br />2009 and how there are some increases and decreases in revenue for 2010. <br />After her presentation, the City Council discussed the information and was ready <br />to open the Public Hearing.. <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />The public hearing was opened at 8:52 p.m. and no comments were made. <br />Mayor Uzpen closed the public hearing at 8:53 p.m. <br />Upon motion by Councilmember Lindner and seconded by Councilmember <br />Watson, a voice vote was taken: Mayor Uzpen — yes, Councilmember Watson — <br />yes, Councilmember Lindner yes, Councilmember Rasmussen — yes and <br />Councilmember Artig-Swomley yes. Resolution 2009-18 passed. Ayes — 5, <br />Nays — 0. <br />Score Grant — Resolution 2009-17: The City Council looked over the <br />information and upon motion by Councilmember Lindner and seconded by <br />Councilmember Watson, Resolution 2009-17 passed. A voice vote was taken: <br />Mayor Uzpen— yes, Councilmember Lindner — yes, Councilmember Rasmussen <br />— yes, Councilmember Watson — yes and Councilmember Artig-Swomley — yes. <br />Distribution of Gambling Funds Resolution 2009-21: The Council <br />discussed this resolution and a decision was made to give $500 to White Bear <br />Lake Food Shelf and $250 to Union Gospel Mission. Upon motion by <br />Councilmember Artig-Swomley and seconded by Councilmember Rasmussen, <br />Resolution 2009-21 passed. Ayes — 5, Nays - 0. <br />Claims for November 2009: The bills for November were discussed and <br />authorized to pay.
