2016-04 <br />City of Gem Lake <br />Ramsey County, Minnesota <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE USE OF NEW VOTING SYSTEM <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes § 206.58, subdivision 1 authorizes cities to use voting systems at their <br />elections, subject to the approval of the County; and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County has authorized the use of the Hart Verity voting system for the city primary <br />and general election to be conducted on August 9, 2016 and all elections conducted thereafter; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Hart Verity voting system is hereby authorized for use in <br />all elections conducted in the City of Gem Lake on August 9, 2016 and thereafter; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the <br />Ramsey County Elections Office; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is directed to provide information to the voters concerning <br />the use of the new voting system; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall make the new voting system available for <br />demonstration to the voters at one or more locations in the City prior to the August 9, 2016 election. <br />Adopted by the Gem Lake Council this 16th day of February, 2016. <br />Mayor <br />I j <br />City Clerk <br />
