,the administrator. It is the. duty of the administrator' to create, <br />update and maintain. an accurate inventory of each ISTS-for -hich. <br />permits have been issued within the. City of .Gem Lake. The <br />inventory should .include location, system description, renovation <br />description and maintenance reports. The: administrator-Ynay inspect <br />any systern:he deems necessary. as a result of the reporting program. <br />The City, 4t cost to the land owner, has each and every ISTS <br />inspected every even year: Any system which..fails the hiq)ection <br />must be renovated or replaced. <br />Ordinance 64 is designed to regulate the operation of the municipal <br />sanitary sewer system. The .ordinance contains regulations .that <br />include the. following: <br />• Regulating connections to be made to the municipal sanitary <br />System: <br />■ Establishing regulations as to type.and kinds of waste that may <br />be disposed of in -the:municipal sanitary sewer system. <br />• Prohibiting the discharge of any type or kind of surface waters <br />into the municipal sanitary sewer system. <br />• Prescribing: rates and charges for sewage disposal services:. <br />Providing for the issuance of permits for and supervision of all <br />connections to the municipal sanitary sewer system. <br />• Prescribing certain materials and methods to be used for said <br />connections. <br />• .Providiftig for licensing of sewer contractors. <br />• .Prescribing penalties for the violation of the. provisions of this <br />ordinance. <br />The timing of the possOle.expansions would depend. on funding and <br />need. The first priority, would be to connect all coznrnercial <br />establishments to public sanitary sewer.
