The system has adequate capacityto serve the area. now and into the future. as the. area is fully
developed. No. increases in pipe size are needed.
2.3 Water Main
The existing water main in Scheuneman Road. is 12-inch DIP.installed in 2016 from County
Road E, north in Scheuneman. approximately 400 feet. There currently is no water main in the
rest of Scheuneman. Road.
2.4 Storm Sewer/Drainage
The existing storm. sewer in the project area consists of ditches and overland flow that collects
runoff and directs it towards the existing centerline culvert at the low point in Scheuneman Road.
This centerline culvert conveys drainage from the .east areas of Scheuneman. Road, including
the railroad area, under Scheuneman Road, then west through the Barnett. parcel, :towards State
Highway 61 and ultimately to Gem Lake. This culvert will be replaced as part of the
improvements and the ditches along Scheuneman Road will be filled.
The existing storm sewer system in. Scheuneman Road near County Road. E installed .in.2009. will
i remain as is.
3 Proposed. Improvements
The proposed improvements identified in this report ace broken down into four sections for
discussion: Streets, sanitary. sewer, water main and storm sewer.
31 Streets
The existing pavement surface on Scheuneman Road will be removed and replaced with new
aggregate. base .and bituminous pavement. The new street section. will have concrete curb &
gutter along both sides of the street. The existing $56 feet or so of Scheunerrian Road. just north
of County Road E will remain ln. place.
With some of the boulevard areas paved on 5cheuneman'Road, its width changes. The new
street section in the reconstruction area will be 34 feet face of curb to face of curb, see Figure 2
for the typical street section. This proposed width allows. for an 11-foot thru lane and a 6-foot
parking lane in each direction.
3.2 Sanitary Sewer
The .existing sanitary sewer maln, manholes and service lines in the right=of--way will remain in
place.. As mentioned previously, this sanitary sewer main was slip lined in 2009 and there are. no
reported issues with. this main. The existing sanitary sewer ends approximately 1,000.. feet north
of.County Road E. This,.project will extend new 8-inch PVC. sanitary sewer main,. with :manholes
and. service .stubs; north approximately 600 feet to provide municipal sanitary sewer to parcels
currently without sewer service: Now 6-inch PVC service lines will be installed fromthe. new main
to the property lines and marked for future connection. See Figure 3 for the proposed sanitary
sewer improvements.
3:3 wafter Main
New 12=inch .Ductile Iron Pipe (DIP) water main will be extended from its .current end. point,. .
approximately 400 feet north of County Road E,. north to the intersection of State Highway 61.
The new water main will include new hydrants, gate valves and service stubs to the parcels. along
Scheuneman Road. see Figure 3 for the proposed water improvements.
