Holidays refers to any of the following: New Year's Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and any other holidays mutually agreed to by the City and. Contractor. In. no instance will.there be more than one holiday during a Callection,week. When the. scheduled collection day falls on or before a holiday, collection for that day will be collected one day later. The Contractor shall publish.a yearly calendar including alternate Collection days, with assistance from the. City.. E. Weighing_of Loads and Reporting Requirements.. The City of Gem Lake agrees to have the recyclables picked up on the same truck with surrounding communities. The weights of Recyclable Materials will be approxiinate based on a formula using the total tonnage on the truck, divided by the sum of the collection stops. The quotient will be multiplied by the number of stops in. -the City. of Gem Lake. A. detailed monthly report shall be provided to the City that identifies total tonnage activity by commodity- .F. Containers. The Contractor will provide a 64%allon cart for collection of all Recyclables to each Residential Unit. The .cost: of providing the Cart will be built into the. Residential Unit rate: Contractor shall be responsible for maintenance of the Carts and except in the. case of :abuse and/or misuse by a resident, Contractor shall replace free of cost. G. Point of Collection. Unless otherwise communicated to Contractor by the City, recyclable collection will be at the curbside. Carts shall be placed by residents with the handle toward the house and lid opening toward the street. The driver is required to place the emptied cart back/clown in an upright position. and in the same location as set by resident and shall be handled with reasonable care to avoid damage.. Any contents spilled during collection shall be cleaned up and disposed of immediately in aworkmanlike manner. Residents that due. to physical limitations, as determined by. the City are unable to move the Cart to the curbside location shall be provided with walk-up service at no additional charge. H. Ownership of 'Recyclable Materials. All recyclable materials for collection shall remain the responsibility and in the ownership of the occupant of the resident or municipal location until handled for collection by the Contractor. At the time Contractor places the acceptable. recyclable materials in the truck, the recyclable materials become the property of the Contractor.
