CITY OF GEM LAKE, MN <br />4200 Otter Lake Road <br />Gem Lake, MN 55110-3227 <br />Telephone 651-747-2790 <br />E-mail Citv(a)aemlakeMN.ora <br />Gem Lake Planning Commission Meeting <br />5 January 2010 <br />The regular meeting of the Planning Commission of Gem Lake was called to <br />order by Chairman Craig Rafferty on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in <br />the Gem Lake City Hall conference room. <br />The following members were present: Chairman Craig Rafferty, Planning <br />Commission members Beth Herzog, Dan Marier and Derek Wippich. <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND MEETING MINUTES <br />Planning Commission Agenda: Chairman Rafferty asked for any changes, <br />deletions or added agenda items. None was given, so proceeded to move <br />forward with the meeting. <br />Planning Commission Minutes: Chairman Rafferty called to approve the <br />December Planning Commission meeting minutes. The December Planning <br />Commission minutes were discussed and upon motion by Commissioner Herzog <br />and seconded by Commissioner Marier. The December minutes were approved. <br />Ayes — 4, Nays — 0. <br />OPEN FORUM <br />Hansen West Property (West of Daniels Farm Road): Chairman Rafferty met <br />with Tom Riedesel, Bill Short from White Bear Township and Eric Anderson from <br />Ryan Companies who is the developer. Also present was Mike Brass and Louis <br />DeMedici III who represents the assisted living project. Bill Short outlined the <br />steps necessary to go through the process. Bill also stressed that the City of <br />Gem Lake has no money in their budget for development. Chairman Rafferty <br />invited the developers to the February City Council Workshop to ask any <br />questions of the council in an informal setting. There were a number of items that <br />were discussed in the meeting concerning the road and the set back but they <br />were just ideas. It was also pointed out by the Planning Commission that there <br />will be more police and ambulance calls and the developers will look into that and <br />put together some numbers regarding their other developments sites. <br />J <br />
