CITY OF GEM LAKE <br />NPDES - MS4 SWPPP <br />BMP DESCRIPTION SHEET <br />A. Unique Identification Number: 4-05-R <br />B. Name or Type of BMP: Construction Site Inspections <br />C. BMP Description: The City currently inspects all construction sites by a contracted civil engineering company to review compliance with codes. <br />The City may require a soil erosion cash deposit to guaranty erosion and sediment control measures are taken. <br />D. Minimum Control Measure Addressed: Construction Site Storm Water Controls <br />E. Describe the measurable that will be used to determine success or benefits of this BMP: <br />1. Count and record the number of sites inspected annually. <br />2. Count and record the number of non -compliant sites compared to the number of total sites. <br />3. Count and record the number of sites where City clean-up is needed. <br />4. EDUCATION PROGRAM / PUBLIC OUTREACH COMPONENT <br />a. Audience(s): Any resident, contractor, City staff business or state or public agency conducting land disturbance or construction <br />activities in the City should identify with the basic goal of the MS4 program - to reduce sediment and other material discharges to <br />City waters from construction sites and to seek awareness of erosion control practices, site clean-up requirements and how they work <br />to protect water quality when properly installed and maintained. <br />F. Describe the timeline or implementation schedule for this BMP: <br />I. Currently in place and ongoing. <br />2. Review data base options for more efficient tracking of inspection reports by March, 2004. <br />G. Person or department in charge of implementing this BMP: <br />1. Frederic C. Three permitted sites were inspected in 2003 and erosion and sediment controls at all sites were found to be adequate with no City <br />clean-up required. <br />2. 2004 <br />a. Following certification by RWMWD, Paul Emeott inspected Hillary Farm and Blue Spruce Estates weekly commencing with <br />development inception to insure sediment and storm water controls approved remain functional and in place. <br />18 <br />
