CITY OF GEM LAKE <br />NPDES - MS4 SWPPP <br />BMP DESCRIPTION SHEET <br />A. Unique Identification Number: 6-04-R <br />B. Name or Type of BMP: Storm System Maintenance Program <br />C. BMP Description: In the first year conduct an inventory of structural runoff controls owned by the City. In the second year the City will evaluate <br />development of a GIS (or other data base) to integrate the location of these controls with schedules for regular inspection and maintenance. The <br />City will coordinate these activities with the inspection program described in BMP 6-03-R. The program will result in timely maintenance of <br />the City's storm system components. <br />D. Minimum Control Measure Addressed: Pollution Prevention / Good Housekeeping for Municipal Operations <br />E. Describe the measurable that will be used to determine success or benefits of this BMP: <br />1. Inspect and maintain system components according to the schedule specified (and as may be revised) in BMP 6-03-R. <br />2. Annually track the number of system components maintained and the general condition of the BMP. <br />3. Estimate the volume or weight of material removed from the BMP annually. <br />F Describe the timeline or implementation schedule for this BMP: <br />1. Reevaluate the maintenance schedule following annual reporting results in March, 2005. <br />2. Reevaluate the maintenance intervals and increase frequency if both Year 1 and Year 2 warranted cleaning or maintenance. Reduce <br />frequency if cleaning or maintenance were not needed in Year 1 or Year 2. <br />3. EDUCATION PROGRAM / PUBLIC OUTREACH COMPONENT <br />a. Audience(s): All City staff or contractors involved in storm water and water resource inspection and maintenance activities. <br />b.
