Program Planning Committee Report for 08 -09 -2011 HRC Meet ing 5
 State of the Community: Human Rights in Roseville (cf Allison Jensen
04 -11 -2011 E -Mai l).

In odd months, we could host celebrations and cultural educational events or a
specific Roseville ethnic/cultural group . We could ask cultural community groups
to come in and present/share their cultures and meet at a culturally -centered
organization /community to learn together . We may also wish to consider
partak ing in other scheduled events in the community, possibly even co -sponsor
the events

While we are not hosting/attending events, the planning group could certainly
distribute other educationa l materials that would be beneficial to those on the
city’s list -serve .

We want to be intentional about our activities, so that we are not encouraging
people to just come and be “spectators ” such as at the zoo –participants need to
be engaged in a mann er where they will learn about creating change and
sustaining equality. This approach would also require the active support of city
staff, but this has been standard for the last three forums and we expect that to
continue.

Attachment s : Neighborhood & Community Engagement Task Force Press
Release dated August 1, 2011
Project 515 Brochure “Fairness”
