department - at considerable cost and time - provides the
Council with a feasibility report. This is what it looks like.
This one happens to be dated January 18. Anyone of you on that
street that was interested in following up the petition, you
didn't have to wait until the public hearing to come up and
say alright, what's it really going to cost us? If it's going
to cost this much, then we neighbors better get together and
we'll let City Hall know that we don't want to have it done.

MAN IN AUDIENCE: That memo was received in the mail
last week.

COUNCILMAN FRANKE: That's according to law. We cannot -
we have to send that hearing notice out - but this - when you
start a petition, you start the ball rolling.

MAN IN AUDIENCE: How do we know when that's available?

COUNCILMAN FRANKE: You call.

ACTING MAYOR JOHNSON: Let's hear from the troublemaker
that started all this.

MR. ROBERT LANGER, 2722 Farrington Street: I've lived
there for 18 years and I think it's high time we do something
to improve the neighborhood. I talked to each one of these
people at least two or three times and I'm sure they're well
aware of what the costs were. We had the brochure in our
hands and we were telling them $12.00. There was no misrepre-
sentation. I'm sure they're well aware that I contacted each
one of them twice. There is no misrepresentation.

MR. JEROME DORNER, 2730 Farrington Street: Bob and I
(inaudible) we made copies of this form here for everybody and
contacted all except for - I think this fellow was out of town
and one or two others (inaudible). We gave one of these to
everybody and those that were out of town or not home, we put
one in their mailbox. That's what the City Engineer suggested
that I do - put them in their mailboxes. We explained to them
that this was a two year old brochure but that the procedures
are still the same but that the costs will probably be a
little different. We indicated approximately $12.00 a foot.

COUNCILMAN FRANKE: All it would take is one phone call
by anybody.

ACTING MAYOR JOHNSON: Are you gentlemen still in favor
of the project?

MR. LANGER: Yes.

MR. DORNER: Yes.

-6-
