I'm nlli~er one in favor of it because it will remove about
three gallons of gasoline through the summer time for mowing
that. Be that as it may, I'm most concerned about being one
of the retired senior citizens in Roseville, which is lovely -
I love it ever so much - it's the garden spot of America -
and that is with regard to snow shoveling in the wintertime
on the proposed sidewalk. I'm putting the cart before the
horse and looking down maybe two or three years, but when our
boys come through on C-2 to plow, they do an excellent job.
I think about 90% of that stuff comes up almost against the
side of our kitchen door. I stopped them once and I said
look guys, why don't you plow some of that stuff on the other
side (inaudible). The mailboxes are on that side - I can
appreciate that.

MAN IN AUDIENCE: I have one more question. Earlier in
the evening they said that this could take weeks or whatever.
In the meantime, if this street is torn up and we can't get
to our house - I live on C-2 across from Marion - so maybe
I'm parking on Marion for 24 hours. Is Roseville's finest
going to come along and ticket us?

MR. HONCHELL: As I indicated before, a large portion of
the construction project - you'll be able to not only get to
your house, but right into your driveway and into your garage
if you have one. Again, when someone is working directly in
front of your house, digging it up - you can't go in and out
because that big construction machine is bigger than your car,
and then there will be that time when the concrete curb is
curing. By and large, other than that, we try and have the
driveways accessible every evening when the people come back
in again.

MAN IN AUDIENCE: The reason I bring this up - a year
ago last winter I went out to shovel my driveway, backed my
car onto the street, and while I was shoveling I got ticketed.
I tried to explain that to Roseville's police and you might
as well have been talking to that wall right there. I had to
pay a fine. I had moved it out so I could shov€l my driveway.
My son said hey, there's a squad car out there - the fellow
wouldn't even listen. I just figure if that same guy comes
along and he's working on his quota. . .

MAYOR DEMOS: It's a very hard-hearted thing to say, but
if you'll go into court - and 1 know you hate to take time
off - but if you'll go into court, I think you'll find those
judges very sympathetic toward you.

MRS. MARION LUNZER: Is Mr. Honchell the head of the
public works? I have a personal question to ask you. Why
do you plow snow at 4:00 or 4:30 in the morning when we have
all worked our tails off the day before and the night before
to get.ourselves - our driveways open - and then you guys
corne along with these big plows and you plow it all in and
our men have to go to work at 4:30 in the morning. We haven't

-11-
