During any amount of rain there is an <br /> <br />inch of water on it. During the winter there is usually quite <br /> <br />a bit of slush there because there is no drainage, there is no <br /> <br />crown to the road at all. And the city engineer took quite a <br />bit of time to explain that at the meeting, the advantages of <br />crowning the road. So I guess I, for one, would strongly <br />support curb and gutter. <br />DEMOS: Are you saying it's a matter, then, the <br />water is up the hill, it runs down your way, they don't have a <br />problem and you do? <br />MARTIN: I think we would tend to all benefit <br />from the curb and gutter. The street does get a fair amount of <br />traffic down to the park. We, in fact, had asked whether or <br />not, because we're a designated bike path, we would receive any <br />special funding because of that, and we were told that, in <br />fact, that was not possible. But we do get a lot of traffic. <br />A lot of people parK on the south end of our street and then <br />walK down to the park. We -- as an aside, we do have quite a <br />drainage problem at Central Park.
