W ■y <br />Item Description: Roseville's Honorary Trade Representative Pro and Intemationa <br />Tr ade Efforts <br />In September of 1998 the Roseville City Council approved an Honorary Trade <br />Representative Program. <br />1.2 The following principles were approved under the Roseville Honorary Trade Program: <br />1, The City of Roseville City Council and Mayor may establish trade initiatives to <br />include the appointment of Honorary Trade Representatives by resolution. <br />2. An appointed Honorary Trade Representatives shall pledge to represent the City <br />of Roseville and its businesses as an ethical, proactive trade advocate, acting as <br />loseville's "Eyes and Ears" throughout the world, assisting and guiding <br />individuals and companies who are considering global business opportunities. <br />The position of Honorary Trade Representative shall be an honorary, non -paid <br />position and shall be addressed as the Honorary Trade Representative and shall <br />serve at the pleasure of the City Council for a terns not to exceed five years. <br />Appointed Honorary Trade Representatives may be re- appointed for additional <br />five -year terms by the recorrunendation of the City Manager and approval of the <br />City Council. <br />4. Honorary Trade Representatives are encouraged to visit Roseville and its <br />businesses on a regular basis and to visit with and promote their Country's <br />businesses to Roseville business delegations traveling within the Representative's <br />Country. <br />5. Honorary Trade Representatives will assist companies and community leaders in <br />making a positive first impression with multi- national business executives and <br />possible sister city relationships. <br />6. Honorary Trade Representatives shall provide direction regarding legal and <br />administrative business customs, trends, regional economic alliances, marketing <br />
