Honorary Trade representatives may also offer assistance in finding suitable <br />business -to- business contacts and possible joint venture business partners. <br />8. Roseville will provide Honorary Trade Representatives with Roseville business <br />and cc) lunity information. Honorary Trade Representatives may post their <br />cyber -net email and fax addresses on the City of Roseville directories and <br />Business Link newsletters. <br />9. Honorary Trade Representatives may distribute Roseville promotional materials <br />throughout the global market and will be provided with Roseville business cards, <br />letterhead and envelopes to support the Honorary Trade Program. <br />10. Roseville City staff will provide assistance to Honorary Trade Representatives to <br />assist in carrying out their responsibilities as deemed necessary by the City of <br />Roseville and Honorary Trade Representative. <br />1.3 At that time staff recommended that the program be reviewed by the Council on an <br />annual basis. <br />2.0 Current City Staff Efforts <br />2.1 City staff developed an informational sheet regarding the HTR Program available to <br />Roseville Businesses. The information was mailed to all Roseville Businesses on our <br />Business Link list in the summer of 1999. In addition, the information is included in all <br />business packets and discussed at all business link meetings. (attached) <br />2.2 A Business Link luncheon was held in September of 1998 which provided a panel of <br />Roseville businesses involved in international trade. The panel discussion provided <br />valuable insight on exporting, setting up and running a manufacturing plant overseas, <br />importing and international communication. (summary attached) <br />2.3 A Business Link newsletter was faxed to all Roseville Businesses in August of 1998 <br />which focused on international trade statistics. (attached) <br />2.4 Staff has been working with Northwestern College to develop an independent study <br />course regarding international trade and Roseville businesses. we continue to work with <br />Northwestern College in hopes that a program will be developed yet this year for the next <br />semester schedule. The program would provide the necessary research needed to develop <br />more target programs for Roseville businesses and will include researching current <br />Roseville business needs and international trade profiles, research and compile resource <br />information available at the world Trade Center and through the Department of Trade <br />and Economic Development and develop a program to make better connections between <br />HTR Program R D (10/1 8199) Page 2 of 3 <br />
