A master plan for Langton Lake has recently been updated and is
attached.
9.0 Environmental Status
As mentioned earlier, the City and its consultant BRW completed an EAW for
Twin Lakes and the new Parkway in 1997.
Roseville received an EPA Brownfield Grant to complete Phase 1 and 2
Environmental Assessments on the Twin Lakes Parkway Corridor. The results
and recommendations of these studies will be made available in late summer/fall
2000. After the completion of the Phase 2 report, the City, with consultant DPRA,
will file a Minnesota Pollution Control Agency VIC program application for
remedial cleanup activities. Asbestos does exist in a number of the older
buildings.
Roseville has also received an EPA Brownfield Revolving Loan Grant to assist
private and public agencies in the analysis and clean up of the corridor and the
adjoining private properties.
The City has chosen the Alternative Urban Area-Wide Review(A.U.A.R.) as a
method of environmental review. This is a portion of Minnesota Environmental
Quality Board regulations, Section 44 10.3600. This document is suited to
conceptual work similar to Roseville's clearly defined Twin Lakes area and
allows the City to lay out the issues to focus on during the information gathering
and planning process.
9.1 The City of Roseville as the responsible local government(RGU)must
include:
Twin Lakes Renewal Strategy August,2000 4of 9
