PROJECT SCOPE
City of Roseville Transitway and HOV Access
mduWUimmimmwwwwwwww ,.,,rrrrrrrrrvrm rcmiiiiiumimmommomimumumumummnmircnmircnmvmvi
OVERVIEW
B Rw, Inc has been retained by the City of Roseville to evaluate two public transit projects being
considered by the City, The first project is to develop a conceptual design and cost estimates for
High-Occup ancy-Vehicle (HOV) access between Highway 36 and the Rosedale Shopping
Center.
Under the second project, B RWa Inc. will assess the potential for a bus-only trans itway that links
the Rosedale shopping center with the University of Minnesota's transit ray linking the
Minneapolis and St. Paul Campuses.
TASKS
Task 1.0 - Preliminary Engineering for HOV Access to Rosedale
The purpose of this task will be to determine the feasibility of providing on HOV access from,
TAI 36 between Snelling and Fairview Avenues to the Rosedale Shopping Center. An earlier
study by BRW identified several options to accomplish this access. The study would include the
following tasks:
Develop a preliminary design for the HOV Access. The study would refine the options
developed in earlier studies.
Develop preliminary cost estimates for the different alternatives.
(Determine the type and number of vehicles that would use the access as well as the number
of people that would be served. The would include busses as well as other multi-occupant
vehicles;
Identify potential design ad safety issues relatives to the access.
Meet with Metro Transit to determine their level of support for the proposed access.
Meet with MnDOT an Tearn Transit personnel to determine their level of support for the
proposed access.
April 2, 1999 1 City of Roseville
