options for the future. a government center, a recreation center, and community center.
These types of uses could he combined in a number of layouts at the City center site. The
Task Force reviewed the lain Street option} the Parkway option, and the City Commons
Option. Each have distinct advantages and features.
More discussion occurred with the Roseville seville Schools and Supt. John Thien—what bind of
synergy could there be with the schools. The two school pools have been talked about and that
the Owasso School could add to the future of the City-School cooperative projects.
Schools will have more extended clay and evening opportunities. Schools will have the
young care centers and senior centers throughout the day. These spaces can be used for
meetings at other times.
Indoor pool and play areas will be used evenings and weekends, but could be matched
with education activities, parking, and other space. Where
should the technology hub be located in Roseville?Leave the City Center design open for
these options. Within the Community Center"gathering-learning spaces",the Task
Force highlighted uses such as:
--Multi-purpose rooms and teen center
Conference rooms
Seminar and performance theatre
Public accessicable studios
Child and senior care facilities
Art display center and outdoor display
Community health clinic center and services (related but not in a government center)
a lower priority because of space
perhaps put health service center at Fire Stations
Technology center and conference center+ studio +hub
History archives and center or{;Iallway of Memories"
Hands-on arts activities within community center
Year-round solarium indoor/outdoor space, especially as a design element of
architecture which integrates indoor and outdoor uses and connects them
14
