Consent f Item Description: resolution Aecepting State Grant for Reimbursement of Expenses for Community Notiffication of a released Sex Offender BACKGROUND On December 22, 1998 Roseville Police held a Community Notification Meeting announcing the release of a Level Y11 Sex Offender who would be moving into Roseville. The meeting was held at the Roseville Area High School and was attended by about 150 residents. The meeting went well an provided useful information to the attendees. The Police Department incurred$494.16 in printing expenses for: 400 color copies of the `Fact Sheet" containing a photo of the released offender, 500 Community Notification resource Guides and 500 Community Notification Crime Prevention Materials handouts. The State Department of Public Safiety 1997 0rnnibus Crime Act provided for reimbursement of expenses for Community Notification Meetings. The State requires a resolution authorizing the Roseville Police Department to enter into the Grant Agreement with the State. The resolution must indicate who is authorized to sign the Grant Agreement. FINANCIAL IMPLI AT N Receipt of$494.16 to reimburse the Police Department for Conununity Notification printing expenses. STAFF OMM NDATION: Pass the attached resolution entering into a Grant Agreement with the State of Minnesota for$494.16. CO I TN IL ACTION REQUESTED: Council resolution authorizing the Roseville Police Department to enter into a Grant Agreement with the State of Minnesota for reimbursement of$494.16 for printing expenses relating to a Community Notification Meeting on December 22, 1998 regarding the release of a Level III Sex Offender .
