Site Monument Signage
A. Descri tion:
Staff of both the City and school District are proposing that a series
of directional signs be placed on the High school site to improve
traffic flow and enhance the experience for citizens. Included in this
plan is a larger monument sign at the main entrance to the facility.
(see attached sketches). The sign would announce the High
School and also the Gymnastics Center.
B. Estimated Cost
$8,000 with the City and school District sharing the costs.
C. Recommendation
Staff recommends that the council authorize the staffs to reach
final agreement on this signage and allow for construction this
summer.
LEXINGTONICTY Bw2 CORNER
The suggestion has been made that the corner of Lexington and B-2 could serve
as a major information node for the major public facilities in Roseville. Traffic
coming off of Hwy. 36, traveling up and down Lexington Ave. and across B
from and to Rosedale would benefit from a small sign plaza that could direct,
inform and promote the facilities of Roseville Area High School, the school
District offices, the Roseville Golf course, Roseville City Hall, Central Park and
the Roseville skating Center. The School District owns the property on the
southwest corner of this intersection and is willing to explore this concept.
1. Signage and Informational Plaza
A. Description:
A monument sign of a size to be determined would be constructed
at would point out each facility location. The area surrounding the
sign would be a small plaza that would use pavers, decorative
benches and landscaping. Staff believes this would not only
rovide a functional purpose but also would also fit with the concept
p
of improving the corners along Lexington and be one of the
signature elements recommended in the Infrastructure Committee
Report.
2
