In 1 993, the John Rose Minnesota OVAL was constructed and attached to the <br /> Roseville Arena. <br /> 3. In 1994, the city of Roseville made application to the Minnesota Legislature and <br /> was granted $500,000 for an expansion of the facilities. <br /> 4. In 1995, the Parks and Recreation Department was reorganized and the <br /> Roseville Skating Center was created. <br /> 5. In 1996 the City of Roseville made application to the Minnesota Amateur Sports <br /> Commission and was granted $50,000 for improvements to the Roseville Arena. <br /> 6. In 1 997, the Council appointed a citizens committee to investigate the <br /> recreational infrastructure needs of the community. This committee <br /> recommended the proposed expansion to the Skating Center. <br /> 7. In 1997, the City Council authorized the consulting firm of Bonestroo, Rosene <br /> and Anderl i k to p repare plans for the expansion of the Skating center. <br /> 8. In January 1998, the Parks and Recreation Commission recommended the <br /> project as proposed. <br /> Process <br /> The ro osed design of the project was developed using the following process: <br /> p p � <br /> a. Staff completed a review of needs outlined in the Parks and <br /> Recreation system Plan <br /> h. The grant application to the state was reviewed. <br /> I <br />
