Solution: Purchase speakers that have a full range of audio to replace current speakers. <br /> Wire them in a zone pattern so they can be louder in the back of the room in <br /> order to fill dead zones without creating feedback. <br /> Problem: Video is dark and difficult to watch. <br /> Priority: High <br /> Solution: Purchase new cameras with greater definition and that can be converted to a <br /> digital signal. Also replace the camera controller that is wearing out. <br /> Problem: Poor audio and video during meeting playbacks. <br /> Priority: High <br /> Solution: The improvements to microphones and cameras will increase the quality of the <br /> recordings so they will improve for playback. CTV replaced the modulator in <br /> City Hall in 2000, so that does not need to be replaced. We will explore <br /> cooperating with CTV on their new digital playback system. We will not add <br /> digital playback decks at this tune because current digital tape formats cannot <br /> accommodate meetings that last longer than 2 hours. <br /> Problem: Room is poorly lit and video quality suffers. <br /> Priority: Medium <br /> Solution: Anew lighting system is too expensive and would not be easily portable so it <br /> has been ruled out. Instead by removing the hump that holds the monitors, we <br /> will be able to improve the light distribution in the room. Removing the hump <br /> will also make it easier to use the room for other functions. However, <br /> removing the hump will require that the monitors be replaced. <br /> Problem: Overhead monitors are difficult to see. <br /> Priority: Medium <br /> Solution: Replace the overhead monitors with flat panel screens that would sit on the <br /> dais and the presentation desk. Also replace the monitor on the cart on the east <br /> side of the room with a larger flat panel monitor on a mobile cart. The flat <br /> panel monitor would also easier to use in work sessions, commission meetings <br /> and other meetings conducted at the tables because it would sit lower and <br /> • Page 2 <br />
