January 7 1998
Kim Lee
City Planner
2660 Civic Center Drive
Roseville, MN 55113-1899
RE! PLANNING FILE: ##2963
PROJECT NAME: Bradley Real Estate, Inc.
Dear Ms. Lee.d
am writing on behalf of my family that consists of my husband Blare and our son
Spencer in regard to the proposed site modifications on the corner of Lexington
and Larpenteur. We are in opposition of this for several reasons.
The neighborhood of Roseville/Como is a quaint area with many people who like
us, use walking as their main mode of getting around. It is nice to beable to wall
to the neighboring businesses, running into neighbors along the way. The
community is a nice mix of the original owners, as well as new families. We were
attracted to this particular neighborhood for that reason. The neighborhood has
been really safe.
The only problems that we have collectively is the amount of traffic that chooses to
tale California and our Alley as an alternate route when frustration has mounted
from sitting in traffic through the park, as well as after leaving the MGM. We
realize that this doesn't sound like a big problem but the traffic that drives through
the aliey often leaves beer cans, garbage and spray painted messages along the
gray.
There has been an increase in mirrors loitering in the alley since the opening of
Papa John's. The young kids hang out, smoke, snoop in the windows of
business' after hours and basically male us nervous. Our comfort level has been
reduces with their presence. We do watch out for the business} in the alley, as
they watch out for us. They are a part of the neighborhood and have been very
good to us. That also includes the MGM staff.
