Forty-nine <br /> students participated in the 1 997 contest. The essays were judged by the Human <br /> Rights commission members with the following winners: <br /> First Place J e n Roo kstool St. Rose of Lima <br /> Awarded $50.00 and Certificate of Award <br /> Second Place Chuck Jaeger St. Rose of Lima <br /> Awarded $35.00 and Certificate of Award <br /> Third Place Mecca Sullivan St. Rose of Lima <br /> Awarded $20.00 and certificate of Award <br /> Honorable Ryan O'Rourke St. Rose of Lima <br /> Mention Certificate of Award <br /> Representatives of the Commission will present the awards at the January 26 Council <br /> meeting at 7:15 p.m. Last year, the Commission members were introduced by the <br /> Mayor and i believe the Mayor also greeted each of the students as they received their <br /> wards. Each of the students will he given the opportunity to read their essays aloud at <br /> the council meeting., <br />
