REQUEST FOR COUNCIL A TION 1/26/98 <br /> Item 19 G- <br /> ■. <br /> Department Approval: Manager Approval: Agenda Section <br /> Recognition <br /> Item Description: Alcohol Compliance Check Grant to the Roseville Police Department <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The Roseville police Department is a recent recipient of a mini grant of $2,318-00 given by the <br /> Minnesota Join Together and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Minnesota Join Together is a <br /> coalition whose focus is the reduction of underage alcohol sales through compliance checks of liquor <br /> license holders. The grant will allow Roseville Police to conduct two alcohol compliance cheeps of <br /> license liquor retailers in 1 998. <br /> A hill will he introduced this legislative session, to rewire alcohol sales compliance checks throughout <br /> the State of Minnesota. Roseville again, is leading the State in the area of compliance cheeks. <br /> STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Accept the Alcohol Compliance Check Grant to the Roseville police Department. <br /> COUNCIL ACTION UESTED: <br /> Motion to accept the Alcohol Compliance Check Grant for$2,318.00. <br />
