REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION ■ r Department Approval: Agenda Section: Hearings Item Des i t on* Adoption of Annual Comprehensive Plan Revisions E05800mannom &ask ground: 1.1 Each year in January the Roseville Planning Commission and City Council affirm the Comprehensive Plan changes that have occurred d u ring the previous year. (The Comprehensive Plan was rewritten and adopted in September, 1994.) During the year all plan changes are approved by the Commission and Council. Most (see examples below) are then seat to the Metropolkan Council for their review, comment, and approval. 1.2 In order to keep track of amendments to the Plan, the Planning Commission has, as part of its first meeting of the year, scheduled the affirmation of the changes and inclusion of the changes on an addenda sheet in the front of the plan. This is a unique gear, in that the Commission and Council will complete its plan a f iirrnabon stage in January, and then rescbmR the Plan (with updated goals, policies, and demographics) in late 1 998 for the Metro Area Mandatory Plan Review by the Metropol an Council. For that reason staff may request the Commission and Council to hold a another review at "arid- eae' for the existing plea and possible updates for 1998-99. 1.3 In 1997 them were a number of changes including the following: 1. Parrs and Open Space Master Plan and Map - Delete an existing wrap titled "Park SysterTw* 7/14 4, update to the new reap, "Parks and Open space Map„, which more thoroughly designates City of Roseville parks and various open space categories, and includes new parka (Zuettel) and new park open apace (St'` Paul Dater Authority). The reap will also illustrate an updated spreadsheet with park areas and percent of total city area. 2. Water Supply/Management Plan 11/96 - I ev'emed and approved by the Metro Council 3/28/97 (to be added to the implementation motion, and by reference).
