choose. The Blockworker Program is a prime example of a program in place which provides that
important link to accessing services. However, as with mater organizations, we are faced with ,1
increased demand for programs and services while at the same time dealing with reduced funding to
meet the needs.
Therefore, we are submitting the following proposal to the Roseville City Council:
The North Suburban Senior council anticipates our funding needs to be $16,000, which
represents approximately 9% of the total operating budget of NSSC. The NSSC is requesting these
funds to support the Blockworker Outreach Program. Each of the communities we serve, within
the perimeter of District 623, is being asked #o fund a percentage of this dollar amount based on the
number of persons over the age of 60 in each city. According to the 1 990 census there are 7,540
individuals over age 60 in Roseville, which is 75% of the total number of persons} 10,000, over
60 in our service area. Therefore, Roseville's share of the $16,000 would be about $12,000
(16,000 x .75 = 12,000).
Thank you for your serious consideration of our proposal.
Sincerely,
f
Lynnae LeBarron
Executive Director
North Suburban Senior council, Inc.
