The base hid package of Shigobee Builders, Inc. meets or exceeds the essential project goals <br />and provides a quality multi -use ice and inline skating rink facility which will service the city <br />for many years to come. Included with the <br />base bid package is: <br />* An additional 90 tons of refrigeration requested in Alternate 2 for a total <br />of $00 tons of refrigeration* <br />* Innovative design improvements to oval end radius refrigeration piping <br />whicb improves ice temperature uniformity. <br />* Enhanced "refrigerated' rink expansion joimt for unproved rink <br />Performance. lu <br />* Design includes the preferred center header "tunnel" (rather than a surface <br />trench with cover plate) which allows for convenient access to piping during <br />the ace season and improved c dnditiions for inline skating in the summer. <br />* Compressors cam a two year warranty which provides two operating <br />seasons of coverage. <br />* The General Contractor, Shingobee Builders, is a minority owned <br />contractor with an excellent reputation which has completed numerous <br />multimilhon dollar projects including the just completed Eden prairie <br />Community Center Ice Rink as well as the Minnetonka Ice Arena in 1989. <br />hingobee will provide all general contracting as well as the performance <br />bond and insurance for the project. <br />* Joel Anderson, of Anderson Ice Rinks will assist in project coordination <br />and supervision. Joel has over 10 years of experience in design, <br />construction, and servicing of ice rinks with personal involvement with <br />approximately 70 ice rink installations. <br />The refrigeration system design consultant will be Mr. Robert P. Puncochar, <br />P.E. who has 40 gears of experience in the mechanical engineering <br />profession including instruction at South Dakota State University, <br />consulting services and engineering management. Mr. Puncochar was most <br />recently involved with design and construction management for the Target <br />Center in Minneapolis which included over 2200 tons of cooling and a <br />refrigerated ice floor. Assisting Mr. Puncochar will be Mr. Bill Davis, p.E., <br />who recently designed large tonnage ammonia refrigeration systems utilizing <br />vilter equipment at the Schwans Co. in Marshall, MN and Golden plump <br />in St. Cloud, MIS <br />Page 2. <br />425o.cor <br />
