Mass Transit <br />Roseville should develop a network of efficient, <br />convenient, and minimally polluting mass transit to serve <br />the City and link it with major business, commercial, <br />educational, and recreational areas of other communities in <br />the metropolitan area. <br />- Set local standards for safety and aesthetics for bus <br />shelters, benches, and park and ride lots* <br />Continue to develop Rosedale as the major transit hub <br />for both scheduled and nonscheduled service, <br />Enlarge the bus shelter at Rosedale, providing enclosed <br />access to the mall and a covered walk ay to the loading <br />and unloading area. <br />dow Expand parking facilities for increased express bus <br />service from Rosedale* <br />Consider shopper shuttle service -linking the various <br />entities of the Rosedale complex, including Byerly's and <br />Har liar (possibly provided by associated merchants) . <br />Consider improvement of Roseville Area Circulator <br />service by connecting neighborhoods, parks, schools, <br />libraries, and commercial establishments, <br />- Support use of an improved Roseville Area Circulator <br />through educational and promotional campaigns. <br />Evaluate transfer points other than Rosedale for <br />shelters or other improvements to facilitate transfer <br />between bins lines. <br />Provide attractive and safe shelters at all heavily used <br />stops. <br />Clearly mark bus stops and provide adequate space for <br />buses to pull out of the moving traffic lane for loading <br />and unloading, <br />-- Expand.tramsit services from Rosedale as proposed in the <br />RTB I' s "Vision for Transit". <br />Develop a proposal for express or limited stop service <br />from Rosedale to other transit hubs and shopping areas <br />such as the Mall of America and Southdale. <br />- Local businesses and government should strongly support <br />public transit, van pooling, and car pooling options for <br />their employees and customers, <br />3 <br />
