Regular Council Minutes M <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 13 <br />election season; consistency of elections; and <br />ramifications and advantages /disadvantages in accelerating <br />the special election schedule, with City Attorney Squires <br />outlining the sequence for publication, filing of Affidavits <br />of Candidacy, and subsequent events. <br />Councilmember Maschka noted that, under any of the <br />scenarios being discussed, an appointment would be made <br />until the special election could be held; with City Attorney <br />Squires confirming that observation. <br />City Manager Beets sought clarification from City <br />Attorney Squires on a resident's concern related to <br />political signage during a Special Election campaign. <br />City Attorney Squires requested time to further research <br />City code as it corresponded and complied with state <br />statute and how both would apply. <br />Discussion between Ms. Curti and individual <br />Councihnembers included her opinion on availability of <br />election judges for a Special Election and respective <br />diming of such an Election. <br />Ms. Curti was called upon by Mayor Kysylyezyn to <br />defend her written and verbal comments and opin�ons <br />related to quoted historical statistics and their relativity to <br />a Special Election in Roseville; voter turnout; projected <br />election costs; rationale for even and odd -year elections; <br />
