(602.06A2) <br />4 <br />4. <br />where a variance from the provisions of this Section is granted pursuant to the <br />6 <br />variance procedure of subsection 1013 of the City Code, based upon crited a <br />7 <br />established by the City Manager, (.B) <br />8 <br />9 D. <br />Fire Lanes: <br />10 <br />11 <br />1. <br />Designation of Danes: when the Fire Chief determines that it is necessary for <br />12 <br />fire safety purposes to establish areas of access for firefighting equipment, the <br />13 <br />Fire Chief shall designate fire lanes along the curb of public and private <br />14 <br />roadways adjacent to buildings and within the parking lots of public and <br />15 <br />private property. within thirty (30) days of notification of such designation, in <br />16 <br />writing, by the Fire Chief, the owner of the property adjacent to such fire lanes <br />17 <br />shall, at the property owner's expense: (602.07A) <br />18 <br />19 <br />a. Fast and maintain signs approved by the Fire Chief reading, in <br />20 <br />substance, "NO PARS - FIRF ". Such signs shall be posted <br />1 <br />at each end of the fire lane and at least at every one hundred foot (100) <br />interval within the fire lane. (6ozow) <br />3 <br />b. Faint and maintain the painting of the curbing along the fire lanes in a <br />yellow color. (602.06A2) <br />6 <br />7 <br />2. <br />Removal of Unauthorized Vehicle:- No vehicle, except an authorized <br />28 <br />emergency vehicle, may be parked in a fire lane. Vehicles in violation of this <br />29 <br />Section may be removed, impounded and kept in custody under the direction <br />30 <br />of the Chief of Police. (602.o7B) <br />1 <br />32 E. <br />maintenance, Improvements or Emergency: <br />33 <br />34 <br />1. <br />The public works Director or the Chief of Police may temporarily prohibit <br />vehicular parking or traffic upon any public street at such times as the Public <br />36 <br />works Department is performing maintenance or making improvements to <br />7 <br />such streets or at such times that a public safety emergency exists on or near <br />38 <br />such streets.
