Regular ■ ■ <br />Page 6 <br />not being viable for consideration for a cell tower <br />due to height or size of the buildings. <br />Mr. Welsch reviewed preferences of the City for <br />monopole use as functioning light poles for a dual <br />purpose. <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn expressed his preference for <br />consolidation of the towers. <br />Mr. Coleman addressed Mayor Kysylyczyn's <br />concerns and Qwest's first choice preferences for <br />placement on water towers. Mr. Coleman further <br />advised that their original plan was to put the <br />equipment behind existing natural screening, as per <br />the original agreement Frank's Nursery. However, <br />the Planning Commission had requested the revised <br />plan as presented, to preserve a tree that would have <br />needed to be removed during the construction <br />process. Qwest had redesigned their plan, in <br />accordance with the Planning Commission's request <br />for cedar fencing, but Frank's Nursery's lender was <br />not in favor of removing any existing parking places <br />and had requested the equipment to be located in the <br />grassy area and screened on all sides by trees. <br />Councilmember Maschka. asked for clarification <br />regarding the type and size of the planned <br />replacement tree(s). <br />Mr. Coleman advised that only one Evergreen tree <br />would need to be removed in order to allow <br />servicing of equipment; and that in order to install <br />the coax cables, the roots would probably be <br />damaged and it wouldn't survive anyway. It was the <br />applicant's intent to replace that tree with a tree of a <br />similar size to the adjacent trees on the site. <br />Councilmember Maschka sought further clarification <br />regarding the screening fence materials and color; <br />square footage of proposed equipment and future <br />
