In plarn`tl for the upcoming performances i n the Park season the <br />management tears carne to realize that the exciting new focus on Ethnic Exposure, Family Involvement <br />and Community Connections comes with increased artistic fees that cannot be met without the <br />assistance from the NflZAC Community Arts Grant. <br />Promotional efforts for the Performances in the Park are multi - faceted. A four color promotional <br />flyer announcing all performances is mailed directly in early May to over 15,000 households in <br />Roseville by way of the Roseville wrap. The Roseville wrap is a bi- monthly comm-unity publication <br />that provides timely information related to City of Roseville events and functions this is where our <br />community goes to find information on community services and fumctions■ performances are <br />highlighted weekly as upcoming community events in the Roseville review, a local door-step <br />delivered newspaper. The Roseville web page is quickly becoming the place to o for current i <br />. g <br />information, the performances in the Park 11 be featured as a calendar of events on the web site <br />throughout the concert season. Each performance also receives top billing on the Central park <br />marquee sign. The marquee greets visitors at the park entrance and is viewed by thousands of passers <br />by each day. The Performances in the Park playbill is available throughout the spring and summer <br />at all City ofRoseville facilities and is distributed at the annual Rose parade, a coimilunity event that <br />attracts 20,000 curbside viewers. Lastly, the July performance by the Roseville Community Band is <br />. ty <br />enjoyed by thousands and broadcast locally on cable television channel 16. <br />Evaluation is a key element in the overall management of the Performances in the Park series. The <br />process of evaluating each performance is ongoing throughout the series season. When assessing he <br />g <br />performances the following criteria are considered; <br />Size of audience and audience make -up, Is the lifespan represented at performances or was <br />a specific age group more represented than another? How can we better reach a greater <br />audience? <br />Quality of presentation and level of energy and enthusiasm is gauged subjectively by <br />volunteer event managers. This evaluation is a two -way critique, involvement by both <br />performers and audiences are detailed for future reference by program management. <br />Connection to the overall mission and goals for the performance series. Did the performers <br />provide an opportunity for artistic enrichment? <br />Community Need/ Support <br />Roseville is a first ring suburb — a mature commumty where tree -lined streets lead to established <br />neighborhoods and established, solid commercial development. Roseville is a community concealed <br />with its environment T- providing ample open space, preserving its wooded arcas and protecting its <br />shorelines. Roseville is a community that equally embraces the arts and athletics — allowing <br />opportunities to support and participate in a wide range of leisure endeavors for residents and guests of <br />all ages. The best definition of Roseville involves the people — it is a city where the needs and <br />concerns of both residents and the business community matter. RONeville is a city wh ere people make <br />the dif erenca <br />Residents of Roseville have long enjoyed the stability, diversity, and friendliness of strong, safe <br />neighborhoods. These neighborhoods foster strong cornmunity spirit and volunteerism in Roseville. <br />Roseville population is older than most suburbs. Forty percent of all homes have a household head over <br />the age of 55. As housing becomes available, mid - career, two income families with grade school and <br />middle school children move into Roseville. And they are staying, creating a stable community. The <br />2000 census shows that the minority population in Roseville has grown. from 5% in 1 990 to 10.5%. <br />The City of Roseville offers its residents a wide array of services. Roseville tries to go beyond merel <br />delivering services. It strives to educate, inform and involve residents in the operations of and the <br />opp ortuni ties within the City.
