Roseville was recognized in 1 999 with the Co • <br />Commission <br />for Accreditation of park and recreation Agencies re-accreditation award. Roseville met 150 of 152 <br />standards, the highest in the nation. In 2000, Roseville was awarded the National Gold Medal Award, <br />one of the most prestigious and coveted nationals awards for reco �tion of excellence in parks <br />� and <br />recreation administration. In the past eleven years Roseville has been acknowledged with nine <br />Minnesota � <br />Recreation and Parks Association Awards o f Excellence. The UIRPA Award of Excellence <br />recognizes high standards and success in the development and management of rc arras and facilities, <br />. <br />. � programs xties, <br />innovative use of technology and creative promotions and marketin g techniques. <br />tec � <br />Roseville, where people make the difference. The City of Roseville has always offered a comfortable <br />enjoyable, and convenient lifestyle for people who live, work and perform. Strong neighborhoods with <br />abundant parks, nationally recognized City services, growing economic base low it taxes and a <br />a a <br />convenient location combine to make Roseville a great place to raise a family, start a business and <br />enjoy the performing arts. <br />The community supports the Perforjmanees in the Parks through the gift of resources and the <br />donation of girds. Community civic groups contribute over $2,000 annually toward the expense of <br />bringing high quality artists to our community. Community members volunteer over 100 hours as <br />performance liaisons. City officials maintain the performance amphitheater and develop and produce <br />promotion and marketing pieces. Lastly, City funds balance the financial responsibilities for <br />performance fees and promotional costs. <br />Diversity <br />recognizing our community diversity and celebrating the variety of cultures in our neighborhoods are <br />important to Roseville Parks and recreation. The 2003 performance season is dedicated to enriching <br />F <br />and involving our entire community through the Ethnic Exposure Series. we look to connect and unite <br />our growing Asian, Black and Hispanic populations through the planned Taiko Drum troupe, Blues <br />concert and South American harp performance. we feel we can successfully reach and involve these <br />new populations in our community thanks to the Ethnic Exposure experiences, we anticipate <br />expanded cultural appreciation by the community in general thanks to the nontraditional performances. <br />The Family Involvement Series and the Community Connection ,series support our goal for artistic <br />appreciation for a lifetime., Our Family Involvement performances are designed to be enjoyed by <br />young and old alike and encourage intergenerational experiences. Community Connection concerts are <br />an opportunity for local artists to "'show-off for fly, friends and audiences of arts supporters. <br />It is the hope of this planning Committee that the Ethnic Exposure, Family Involvernent and Comrnuiiity <br />Connections Series will strengthen bonds between community members, develop community traditions <br />and increase community pride, <br />Access <br />As a community, Roseville provides accessibility to community -wide programs and facilities. The <br />City of Roseville complies with ADA standards and provides support services for those in need. <br />Our parrs and programs are designed to encourage involvement and participation. Roseville "s Central <br />Farb Amphitheater, home to the Performances in the Park, is completely accessible for audience <br />members and artists.
