•
OPENING "C2" WILL NOT REDUCE JOSEPHINE TRAFFIC
Opening "C2"WILL NOT provide a significant traffic flow reduction on Josephine
Road.
The Traffic Study indicates only a modest reduction in traffic on Josephine Road
"C2" CAN NOT PROVIDE EAST-WEST TRAFFIC
"C2"does not and can not provide significant East-West traffic flow.
This short segment of road is limited because of its road-connector isolation.
"C" IS THE PRIMARY EAST-WEST ROUTE
Co. Rd. "C"has been, and is, the primary conduit for East-West traffic in this area.
RE-ROUTE "C" TRAFFIC TO "C2"
If"C2" is opened, a portion of existing traffic on "C"will simply be re-routed onto "C2".
This was a primary conclusion of the Traffic Study
"C"has recently been re-constructed at great expense.
This was done to provide large amounts of through-traffic that moves vehicles for long
distances in the East-West directions.
"C" is only 0.5 mile south of"C2"
There would be a HUGE INCREASE in traffic on "C2"if it is opened.
"C2" HAS STEEP HILLS (8% GRADE)
The section of"C2"west of the barrier has very steep 8% grade hills and valleys.
Re-construction of these hills and sewers will require large expenditures.
2
