5. Prioritize Tasks/Organizing Team Recommendations <br /> Priorities were not finalized. The following is a listing of topics brought forward for group consideration. <br /> Topics are not listed in level of significance but rather in sequence of the actual discussion. <br /> • Look to possibly combine the Affiliated Groups Work Group and the Community Facilities Work Group <br /> • Involve School Board Members as Implementation Partners <br /> • Parks & Recreation Commission is concerned by the immense task of managing a large number of work <br /> groups with the potential of numerous members <br /> • Reconsider the place of the survey focused work group <br /> • Look to schedule regular times to walk with the Council on the Master Plan Implementation process <br /> • Find ways to keep the master plan and implementation process information in front of the community <br /> consistently over the next 12 months. <br /> • Establish a Marketing Plan that includes a recognizable message and a communications scheme that <br /> builds on the adopted Master Plan recommendations <br /> • Council responsible for authorizing the message that will be taken to the community <br /> • Organizing Team and Implementation Team responsible for communicating that message <br /> • Possibly utilize a tiered message that addresses <br /> ■ maintaining current resources and services <br /> ■ supplementing resources based on community interests <br /> ■ reaching the final goal of a complete implementation as outlined in the updated <br /> Parks &Recreation Master Plan <br /> • Communications Plan should; <br /> ■ build off the adopted master plan <br /> ■ present implementation phases <br /> ■ serve as a system to create community outreach <br /> ■ define what the Mster Plan Implementation means—give the Master plan legs <br /> • Review Implementation Timeline <br /> • Coordinate Communications Network using social medias and web based info <br /> • What is the appropriate referendum for broad, community-wide support <br /> • Find ways to inform and involve those community members who have not been involved in the master <br /> plan process or shared their opinion <br /> • Suggested we start with a community survey that can help gauge the level of support for a referendum. <br /> It was suggested that a survey will serve a valuable Parks &recreation operational tool that will identify <br /> what is important to the community <br /> 6.
