You reviewed and made further recommendations/suggestions at your retreat on Sept. 18, 2010.
A presentation of the final draft plan was made to the City Council on September 27, 2010 where
it received positive reviews.
With the recommendations and suggestions included, the final draft plan was made available to
the citizens from October 1St through November 1St at various locations and the City website for
further input. The overall suggestions were primarily organizational and grammatical with positive
feedback on the overall plan itself. Attached is a brief outline of the modifications to create the final
plan.
The System Plan update process is now complete with the expectation of a final review and
recommendation by the Commission at your November meeting. The plan will then be forwarded
to the City Council on November 15th with anticipation of final adoption.
Requested Commission Action: Final review and recommendation of the Parks and Recreation
System Master Plan to the City Council
5. Master Plan Implementation Discussion
This is continued discussion on the details of the "path to implementation' .
Following up on your comments at the October meeting, a draft structure of an implementation
process is included in your packet for discussion.
Commissioner Etten has agreed to take a lead facilitation role for the process of exploring
implementation approaches and methods. It is anticipated that the entire commission will be
substantially involved and will be a guiding principle in the implementation direction.
Requested Commission Action: Discuss, provide feedback and make a recommendation to the
City Council and Staff on the structure and implementation process and moving forward
6. Directors Report
7. Other
8. Adjournment
