An 5 analysis is being completed comparing the cost of treatment 6 by a contractor vs. in-house cost. 7 8 iv. Replanting: It is an essential and integral part of this plan to 9 include replanting appropriate replacement trees as the 10 boulevard ash trees are removed. The 2010 grant will allow 11 up to 23 trees. 12 13 v. Private property: It has been an expressed desire from some 14 residents to have the ability to purchase a product or service 15 at a city rate should the city enter into a volume contract. 16 17 C. Ordinance 18 1 . Description: 19 i. To update the current city forestation control ordinance #706 20 to include EAB and other appropriate modifications. 21 ii. Involve the Parks and Recreation Commission in the 22 ordinance review, revision and recommendation to the City 23 Council for final adoption. 24 i i i. Determine if any changes are necessary to the ordinance 25 including the role of the city and the role of the homeowner. 26 27 2. Progress: 28 i. Current ordinance #706 has been distributed to the Parks 29 and Recreation Commission and preliminarily discussed. 30 ii. A draft ordinance update is in process with the Parks and 31 Recreation Commission and the City Council discussions 32 soon to follow. 33 i i i. We anticipate that in early 2011 the city will hold a public 34 hearing for an updated forestation control ordinance. 35 36 D. Wood Handling 37 1 . Description: 38 i. Restrict movement per federal and state quarantine 39 ii. Utilize wood 40 iii. Will be lots of wood waste 41 iv. Equipment/staff etc 42 43 2. Progress: 44 i. The City of Roseville is adhering to federal and state 45 requirements. 46 ii. Ramsey County is under a state quarantine. 4
