1 iii. The city requires all licensed tree removal contractors <br /> 2 working in Roseville to complete an EAB compliance <br /> 3 agreement. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 E. Planting <br /> 6 1 . Description: <br /> 7 i. Fill in existing vacant sites. <br /> 8 ii. Replant as trees are removed. <br /> 9 iii. Develop a diverse population plan consisting of no more <br /> 10 than 20% with a goal of 10% per species. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 2. Progress: <br /> 13 i. Available planting sites are identified through the tree <br /> 14 inventory. <br /> 15 ii. The City of Roseville will begin planting in these locations as <br /> 16 resources are made available. The 2010 grant allows for up <br /> 17 to 23 trees. <br /> 18 iii. The planting plan will account for a diverse tree population. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 F. Outreach/Education <br /> 21 1 . Description: <br /> 22 i. Disseminating information on EAB to the public in as many <br /> 23 methods as possible. <br /> 24 ii. Disseminate information on the role of the city and role of the <br /> 25 homeowner. Currently trees on private properties are the full <br /> 26 responsibly of the owner and not the responsibility of the <br /> 27 city. <br /> 28 iii. Create public understanding. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 2. Progress: <br /> 31 i. The City of Roseville has been providing public information <br /> 32 through the city newsletter, newspaper, flyers, public <br /> 33 presentations, city website, facility and event displays, etc... <br /> 34 ii. Public information meetings have been held at city facilities. <br /> 35 iii. Staff has participated in numerous metro, state and national <br /> 36 level meetings to discuss approaches, history and the future. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 G. Training <br /> 39 1 . Description: <br /> 40 i. Ash and EAB identification, use of equipment, technical <br /> 41 standards. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 2. Progress: <br /> 44 i. City staff has participated in a variety of training <br /> 45 opportunities. This approach will continue as opportunities <br /> 46 arise and as time allows. <br /> 5 <br />
