7. Tree Inventory As you are aware, the City has been in the process of updating the public tree inventory over the past several years utilizing existing technology and volunteers. The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) grant receive in January, 2010 allowed the City to purchase a tree software program specifically to aid in compiling the tree inventory and documentation. The grant allowed for a limited amount of resources to facilitate the inventory including hiring the volunteers to expedite the inventory. To provide you with a general idea on the information provided by the tree inventory attached are the following documents that will eventually be included in a full Public Tree Master Plan, they are a: • Public Tree and Master Plan data map for Constellation M in the SE Sector as an example • Pie chart of the distribution of all trees on city boulevards • Pie chart of the distribution of all trees in city parks • Pie chart of the distribution of trees at city facilities, e.g. city hall/skating center, fire stations • Bar chart of the condition of all trees • Bar chart of the condition of all ash trees • Bar chart of the diameter inch of all ash trees It is anticipated that you will be spending additional time over the winter reviewing and providing advice on the overall Public Tree Master Plan and the Public Tree Inventory.
