Planning Timeline — Discontinued
Pilot Project — N/A
Projected Implementation —Not Implemented
Action to Date: It is was my recommendation that Roseville Area Schools refrain from
asking the community to support this initiative after the passage of the referendum. The
passage of the referendum in September of 2006 allowed the district to move out of SOD.
This "Milepost," along with "Milepost 4 6,"' placed the district in a better position to pass
the referendum by making the community aware of the financial realities faced by the
district.
Milepost #8: Continue to accept open enrollment students where and when space is
available
Responsible District Administrator —John Thein, Joe Wemette and Chris Sonenblum
Team Composition — Building and Program leaders, Counselors, Census and
Technology Team
Planning Timeline — Continuous
Pilot Project — N/A
Projected Implementation —Ongoing
Action to Date: Roseville Area Schools continues to be a winner in straight open
enrollment numbers. Our open enrollment numbers continue to increase and now equal
over 10% of our total enrollment. The district staff is well aware that open enrollment
families and their students make it possible for Roseville to offer breadth and depth that
would not be possible without the additional students gained through the option program.
Milepost #9: Continue to partner with district municipalities to share/reduce
operational costs
Responsible District Administrator —John Thein and the District Center Administrators
Team Composition — Principals, Community Education Staff, Activities Staff,
Operations Staff
Planning Timeline — Continuous
Pilot Project— Little Canada Improvements
Projected Implementation —Ongoing
Action to Date: The sale of district property adjacent to RAMS is an example of meeting
the needs of the City of Little Canada and the district. The sale of the property will allow
St. Jude Corporation to expand their facility and increase the number of employment
positions. The City held public meetings and assisted in the sale of the property to St.
Jude. The benefit to the school district is clear,, and the City has improved its tax base.
The new positions will bring additional families to Little Canada and the school district.
District Center a 1251 County Rd B2 West a Roseville, MN 55113-3299
PHONE 651/635-1600 a F 651/635-1659 a www.isd623.org
Roseville, Area School District 623 is an equal opportunity affirmative action educator and employer, committed to a culturally diverse
workforce.
