COUNTY ROAD B2 BACKBONE <br />This fiber optic trunk was installed in late 2000 in a joint partnership with Access Communications <br />Corporation, a private telecommunications service provider that primarily serves educational <br />institutions. The fiber optic network was built through Roseville to extend services to School District <br />910 which operates facilities near Rice Street in Little Canada. The City owns 120 strands within the <br />bundled cable with the remaining strands owned by Access Corporation. The city contracts with <br />Access to provide required locate services and perform routine maintenance and repair. <br />The S2 fiber optic trunk extends from Roseville Area Middle School to a terminus at Snelling Avenue. <br />(See MAP A) The backbone includes a series of 10 communication vaults to provide splice access <br />points for extending lateral segments from the backbone to serve additional facilities within the <br />Highway 36 corridor. Currently Roseville Area School District utilizes the backbone to connect the <br />High School to the Middle School. <br />DALE CORRIDOR <br />The Dale Corridor Fiber optic Service Area cross connects to the County Road B2 backbone at Dale <br />Street. The Dale Corridor includes the following public sites and facilities: <br />PPIMAP Y SITES <br />Harriet Alexander Nature Center <br />Central Park Elementary School <br />Roseville Fire Station #3 — Dale Street <br />Parkview School <br />Water Booster Station <br />SECONDAP Y SITES <br />Roseville Arboretum <br />Roseville Compost Site <br />Wildlife Rehabilitation Center <br />TERTIARYSITES (Private Schools) <br />Concordia School <br />The primary sites have been identified as operationally critical to city and school services. with the <br />exception of the Booster Station, these sites are currently connected to the Comcast provided <br />Institutional Network with outdated cable modem devices purchased by each respective agency. This <br />equipment was installed in 1990 and is no longer sold or serviced. The devices are not reliable <br />averaging 99% reliability, or 3 days of outages per year.
