Attachment A <br />Roseville City Council <br />Excerpt of Meeting Minutes - Monday, August 27, 2007 <br />Reappointments — Housing and Redevelopment Authority <br />Reappointments <br />Roe moved, Pust seconded, approval of the Mayor's reappointment of <br />William Majerus and reappointment of Dean Maschka to serve <br />respective five (5) year terms on the Housing and Redevelopment <br />Authority beginning September 24, 2007 to September 23, 2012. <br />Councilmember Ihlan referenced Mr. Maschka's comments at the <br />August 20, 2007 City Council Study Session that the Council consider <br />disbanding the HRA if not planning to effectively use them. <br />Councilmember Ihlan spoke in support of such disbanding, opining that <br />she was concerned that they were an unelected body with levy <br />authority; and further opined that it was not good public policy to not <br />seek interest in serving from ether members of the community prier to <br />reappointment of commissioners. <br />Councilmember Kough opined that he had only one objection related <br />to how the HRA spent some funds not specifically related to housing <br />needs, by hiring consultants. Councilmember Kough noted that he <br />supported an open appointment process; he noted that the Mayor was <br />exercising his privilege for appointing existing members and <br />questioned if Mayor Klausing has sought interest from other interested <br />citizens. <br />Mayor Klausing advised that he was attempting to follow the process <br />adopted unanimously at a previous meeting by the City Council with <br />both Mr. Majerus and Mr. Maschka expressing a willingness to continue <br />serving on the HRA. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Pust; Kough; Roe; and Klausing. <br />Nays: Ihlan. <br />Motion carried. <br />
