5. Master Plan Implementation Discussion <br /> This is continued discussion about the "path to implementation' . <br /> Commission representatives and staff will plan to review progress to date. This is a time to <br /> gather continued guidance/direction from the entire commission. <br /> Enclosed is the information that was provided at the July 11, 2011 City Council meeting. <br /> After discussion, there was a general consensus on the approach to implement step one. <br /> This will also be an opportunity to discuss the Community Meeting that will have been held <br /> on Thursday, July 28t" <br /> The work to be done now is for the Implementation Work Teams to review and comment on <br /> the specific projects and costs, share the plan details with the community, refine as <br /> necessary and bring back to the City Council for a resolution of approval and a public <br /> hearing. <br /> Requested Commission Action: Discuss progress on the implementation process and <br /> gather continued guidance <br /> 6. Budget Update/Discussion <br /> Included in your packet is the City Managers recommended budget for 2012 and 2013. The <br /> recommendation will require the reduction of one full time recreation postion and a reduction <br /> of$140,000 in the Park Improvement Budget. <br /> The impacts will include another complete reorganization of staff duties, the elimination of all <br /> special events such as the parade, July 4t" celebration, rosefest, discover your parks and a <br /> reduction in the nature center operations as well as service related areas like response <br /> times, etc. <br /> Requested Commission Action: Discuss and Comment <br /> 7.
