<br />City Council Study Session - 04/18/05 <br />Minutes - Page 14 <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan spoke in support of the second portion of <br />the proposed resolution related to city land. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder requested a summary of statutory <br />review related to this specific item prior to further Council <br />discussions and consideration. <br /> <br />City Attorney Anderson was so directed to provide an opinion <br />related to majority vote for land acquisition and disposal, based <br />on statutory language, at his earliest convenience. <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />Discuss City Newsletter Name and Masthead Design <br />Elements <br />City Manager Beets reviewed the recent choice of Greenhaven <br />Printing for the redesign and printing of the city newsletter and <br />presented several mock-ups of a proposed redesign for Council <br />consideration, with the objective of freshening up the look of the <br />newsletter and taking advantage of the new printing firm's <br />graphic designer. <br /> <br />Discussion included colors, name change on the masthead, font <br />sizes and types and staff recommendations. <br /> <br />Council consensus was in concurrence with staff's <br />recommendation for the slant version on the masthead, and serif <br />typeface for easier readability. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />Proposal for Community Planning Process for Langton Lake <br />Park <br />Councilmember Ihlan requested discussion on a community <br />planning process for Langton Lake Park modeled after that <br />recently completed for Ladyslipper Park. Councilmember Ihlan <br />noted the success of that particular process and the outcome; <br />proposing the same for Langton Lake Park in relationship to <br />Parkway construction and redevelopment. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder noted the difference in that <br />Ladyslipper Park had no Master Plan prior to the process, but <br />that Langton Lake Park has an existing Master Plan, which <br />would obviously need updating in relation to Twin Lakes <br /> <br />Discuss City <br />Newsletter Name <br />and Masthead <br />Design Elements <br /> <br />Proposal for <br />Community <br />Planning Process <br />for Langton Lake <br />Park <br />
